迷路/I am a Maze

I am a maze.

You enter me and try to get out, but there are many wrong paths inside of me, so you get lost easily.

You enjoyed that.

I was built 30 years ago in an amusement park.

I was very popular.

Did you know more than 20,000 people came to play with me in just one day?

But, after several years, I had fewer and fewer visitors.

I understood.

If you come two or three times, it’s not fun anymore.

You know the way out.

I became useless, so I started to play with visitors.

I changed my path.

It was so much fun.

One day, a couple came.

“Do you want to go this way or that way?

You decide!”

“Let’s go this way!”

“I’ve come here often, so I know how to get out.

When she becomes afraid, I will take care of her.

She will like me more.”

But, because I changed the path, they really got lost and a rescue team came.

I saw a helicopter in the sky, too.

It was so exciting, but it became a big problem and as a result, I was closed down.

Since then, young people began to come at night and take pictures.

I wondered why.

“I saw someone in the white dress.

I really did.”

They said there were ghosts walking inside of me.

That wasn’t true.

I didn’t want to be called a scary place.

I wanted to disappear.

Then, one night, a young woman came with a baby.

Why was she there in the middle of the night?

The next moment, she put the baby on the ground and started running for the exit.

No!

I changed the path to send her back to her baby again and again.

Don’t leave your baby.

You will never be able to get out of your own maze inside of your heart.

“I’m sorry I tried to leave you.

I was wrong.

Let’s go home.”

I made a path straight to the exit.

She held the baby in her arms and walked out of me.

That was 20 years ago.

Today, a young staff member from an amusement park came and started decorating me with lights.

“You know what, Maze?

You are going to become a night garden.

Do you like my plan?”

Wow, sounds exciting.

I like that!

“My Mom told me that we came here once at midnight.

Why midnight?

Anyway, I feel comfortable here.

I like you.”

最後に

迷路自身が主人公なんて発想は面白いなとおもいました

忘れ去られやすい建物の表現がよく伝わってきました
