【key sentence】

The Earth is no more than a little planet.

地球はちっぽけな惑星にすぎないもの

many, muchの比較級：より多く

no more than：

強い感情の「ーにすぎない」

Onlyと同じ意味のニュアンス

no：全然そうではない

※「ーを超えてはいない」の意味ではない

「ーを超えてはいない」の方は

not more than

例文）

1）

There were no more than ten people present.

10人しか出席者はいませんでした

たったそれだけのがっかり感

There were not more than ten people present.

10人以下の出席者でした

10人は超えていない

・no less than：数量の大きさを強調して、そんなにも

・not less than：ーより下ではない

の例

5000ワード以上の論文をかかなくてはなりません
